Hi, I’m Melissa, Occupational Therapist & Founder of Inner Bigness.
My path to becoming an Occupational Therapist wasn’t a straight line, it was a deep dive into the everyday lives of children. Since 2012, I’ve spent my entire adult career working alongside neurodivergent kids and their families.
Before earning my Master’s in Occupational Therapy, I worked on the ground as an Educational Assistant (EA) in schools and a Therapy Assistant in the community. Spending thousands of hours supporting kids in busy classrooms, sensory spaces, and home routines taught me something a textbook never could: children don't live in clinics.
When I founded Inner Bigness, I chose to leave the traditional clinic behind. I believe that children do their best learning, connecting, and growing where they feel most comfortable and safe:
In Your Home: Where we can work on real mealtime routines, bedtime transitions, or sensory regulation in your child's actual environment.
At Daycare or School: Where we can collaborate directly with educators to adapt the environment and support social-emotional regulation.
In the Community: Where we can practice navigating parks, public spaces, and community activities together.
When therapy happens in a child’s natural space, I get to see the full, real picture. Together, we can build practical strategies that fit your family’s real life—not just an artificial 50-minute session.
Every neurodivergent child carries a unique strengths-based profile. My goal isn’t to "fix" your child or fit them into a box. I am here to honor how their nervous system works, support their emotional regulation, and give them, and you, the practical tools needed to navigate daily life with more ease and joy.
Whether we are working on sensory processing, self-care routines, motor planning, or self-advocacy, I bring patience, curiosity, and over a decade of hands-on experience to every session.
